17th Century Virginia Document Appraisal for James Pate

(17th Century Virginia - Pate, James) A 17th century document appraisal of the contents of the estate of the Middlesex County, VA tobacco planter James Pate. It is dated 12/6/1695. and signed by the three estate appraisers: John Ashborne, David Berwick (signed with his mark X) and John F. Nichols. The document is also signed by the Middlesex County Clerk, William Churchill (1649-1710). Churchill was also in the Virginia General Assembly House of Burgesses and served as the Virginia Secretary of State. It is written in ink, legible and in very good condition.. James Pate held one of the larger tobacco plantations in Virginia at the time of his death.
