The introduction reads "During the past nine years, many architects have commissioned us to furnish 'CREO-DIPT' stained shingles bent lengthwise and crosswise, and sawed with thatched butts to meet their requirements for a material that would give the artistic effect of old English thatched roofs. Our efforts have met with such general commendation and approval, that we have come to recognize the fact that thatched roofs with 'CREO-DIPT" stained shingles have made a place for themselves."
