The Morning Press - 1925 Santa Barbara Earthquake
Santa Barbara, California. THE MORNING PRESS. June 29th, 1925. A terrific broadside edition of this newspaper published under emergency conditions the day after the 1925 Santa Barbara earthquake. The bold headline reads “5 S.B. DEAD S.F. & L.A. SAFE. With the balance of the page set in typewriter format of two columns. The last 3 paragraphs are in a smaller, different fold so as to get the dispatches on the sheet. Classified as an emergency newspaper due to it being printed where the earthquake happened. A few archival mends to the back, two tiny holes at the left margin and several folds. Very clean and in vg cond.
