THE MURDER OF ED McCORKLE ON SUNDAY FEBRUARY 26, 1905 IN ANALLA, NEW MEXICO
A long and detailed account of witness statements and court proceedings in the February 26, 1905 murder of Ed McCorkle, who was killed in the ghost town of Analla (now Tinnie), New Mexico. This document implicates Anselmo and Leopoldo Pacheco as the murderers. Within the document are forensic details, witness statements and the description of the trial. The brothers along with Trinidad Gallegos were tried and acquitted for the murder in Los Palos. Immediately following the acquittal the Pachecos sold out their store in Analla.

Feby 26th “Matillos Sedillos says he Anselmo Pacheco said he was going to kill a horsethief a.m.”
“On March 21st 1905 Joyn Owen, Doyle Murray, Ernest McCorkle, Severo Gallegos and Hignio Sanches went to where the murder was comitted and tracked three horses. One track big shod horse. One track horse with medium sized track – one track horse with small track. One small mule tracks. Tracks of above description was found around and near where the above parties found two parts of brains. Followed tracks northward around the edge of hill. About 250 yds from brains the big horse track turned abruptly up the hill east a few yds. to a small patch of low brush. A lot of blood was found where the horse stoped. The tracks turned back north west and come together with the mule track about 200 yds from where the big horse stoped on the hill. Then all the horses and mule tracks went down the canyon a few yards to where the body of McCorkle was found.”
